Digital Agency Services
SEO, PPC & Content Marketing Support for Agencies
Hi, my name is Scott Boyd, a freelance digital marketing consultant and I’m based in Edinburgh. I’ve specialised in digital marketing since 2002. I help agencies of all types with freelance digital marketing services such as SEO, PPC and content marketing.
Freelance digital marketing services for agencies
I’ve worked with agency clients since 2002, helping them with SEO, PPC and content marketing services.
As a highly experienced freelancer, I bring a wealth of expertise and experience to your agency – not just in the technical delivery of my services, but also in my knowledge of many industries and my project management skills.
It can be difficult for digital agencies to justify the cost of full time specialist staff, particularly for disciplines that aren’t your core business. That’s where I can help out – I’ve worked with design agencies, branding agencies and web development agencies to offer white label SEO, PPC and content creation services.
I offer a flexible digital marketing solution – ranging from one-off pieces of work such as SEO penalty resolutions or PPC campaign setup, to ongoing digital marketing services for your clients as a freelance Digital Marketing Manager.
With me you get an experienced digital marketer who understands what value looks like, and strives to deliver it for your business.

An example of a long term agency relationship
I worked for 5 years with a design agency on a freelance basis of 3 days per week as Digital Marketing Manager.
My duties were varied, but as a consquence of my experience, I was able to hit the ground running.
The agency had a handful of long term clients they had produced websites for, who had asked them to help with digital marketing and they contacted me when their full time Digital Marketing Manager left the company.
My role within the company included:
- Project management of all client campaigns
- Technical SEO audits, research and planning
- Creation and management of PPC campaigns
- Compiling monthly reports for clients
- Regular catchup meetings with clients
- Interviewing and eventually training apprentices
- Pitching for new clients
While this arrangement did use up more of my time than would be usual for a freelance client, it does serve as a good example of the flexibility of my service and breadth of my skills.
For other agencies, I have carried out various one-off pieces of work for single clients or in some cases, multiple clients.
If you feel your agency could use specialist digital marketing support but aren’t looking at filling a full time position, then we should have a chat about how I can help.

Added value all the way
Value is important to me - whether that's extracting more value from something you're already doing, or ensuring you get the most value from what I do.

Frequently asked questions
Can you take on the role of Digital Marketing Manager?
We can chat about how many clients you have to serve and what comittment you would need from me – I’ll let you know if I have the capacity to take on regular work.
When do you invoice?
Can you work from our offices?
Usually not, but if there are circumstances that require it I can be flexible.
Can we hire you for specific days of the week/month?
I’m happy to be flexible on this if it fits with how your team operates.
I would usually agree on the expected work to be completed for the upcoming month and when it will be delivered, rather than focusing on specific days being blocked off. This just gives me more flexibility to manage my own workload.
Of course, this will factor in your own internal processes (meetings, etc) and deadlines.
